whenever my hair starts driving me a little nuts or i want a different look i wrap the madness up in a head scarf or bandana. years ago i wore a lot of head wraps, but these days it’s more of just the usual wrap it around the front, tie it in the back variety. but this spring my plan is to buy some beautifully colored scarves and try different wrapping techniques. here a few of my fave styles.

it’s everywhere! laser cut jewelry has been very popular over the past few years and it comes in a variety of materials: acrylic, wood, felt, leather… last year i featured rachel stewart‘s laser cut jewelry that included afro picks and cassette tapes and since then i’ve come across so many other designers with beautiful and unique pieces. moonc is my most recent find. these lithuanian designers create jewelry inspired by nature, history and architecture.

who doesn’t love a cute bag and piece of jewelry. i know i do!! i do!! here are a few things i’ve come across ’round the web.
my hair has been super curly forever. unless you count the times when it was pressed, permed, flat ironed or wrapped till it was bone straight, but the straightness never lasts long. i’m talking a week tops because as soon as it gets wet it’s curling some kinda way. but don’t get it twisted, i’m not a part of the natural revolution. i’ve had this hair all my life so i’m not going to start singing its natural praises now. i’m in more of the whatever-works-for-you camp. if it’s a weave/wig/perm/afro/twists/blow out/mohawk/locs/bald… whatever. do you!
i’ve been growing my hair out for several months now and i really don’t have an idea of what i want it to look like ultimately, but i’m lovin’ these pics of girls and their curls that i’ve been collecting on pinterest.
okay, i have flim-flammed with the best of ’em on the whole plan of losing weight. i’ve counted calories solidly for a couple months only to take a stroll once again down cinnabon/big bowl of ice cream/pass me the box of boston baked beans (yes, i still eat those when i can find them) row.
but this skirt… oh my. this high-waisted pink pencil skirt here is just the inspiration i need to banish all things white from my diet. forever.
