- i love making lists of things
- it probably all started when i was 6 or 7 and i’d write down every word i could think of
- yeah, you could say i was a nerd
- i love collecting cookbooks with pretty pictures
- i hate cooking because it never comes out looking like the pretty pictures in cookbooks
- i was once captain of patrols on my school bus
- i took ballet classes when i was a kid (for about two weeks…or maybe it was three)
- i also modeled in a few local fashion shows
- i don’t do halloween or santa claus so don’t ask my son to go trick or treating or threaten him by saying if he’s not nice santa won’t come visit on Christmas. he won’t believe you
- when i was about 13 i used to dye my hair with kool-aid
- i avoided walking in the rain after dyeing my hair with kool-aid when i was 13
- i met ll cool j when i was a teenager in georgetown once (i chased his car down the street for an autograph)
- i hate scary movies, commercials about scary movies and scary things in general
- i think buying note cards is fun. even if i don’t actually send people notes
- my first pets were two chameleon lizards
- i once had two goldfish and their names were fish and fishette.
- fish lived for a year
- i also had a pet helium balloon once
- it floated around the house for weeks
- i actually liked school
- i would love to go to greece or spain
- i have no desire to ever set foot in las vegas. ever.
- i don’t have a favorite color although for some strange reason i was hooked on pink for about a year
- i don’t particularly care for lacey things
- i don’t believe in horoscopes
- or luck
- i do, however, believe in soul mates
- i love old school hip-hop
- i used to paint liquor bottles
- i sold them too
- i still have a few if you’re interested
- i own a guitar but can’t play
- i once had an imaginary friend named john-john
- john-john was very, very bad
- i can type really fast. i’m not sure how fast though

- i love reality tv
- no, i’m addicted to reality tv. really, it’s bad.
- i’ve owned four hondas
- i like to sing loudly and i’m sure i sound pretty bad
- i was in a talented and gifted program in middle school and high school
- my last high school report card gpa was 4.0
- i studied fashion design in college
- realized later i’m just too impatient to be a fashion designer
- i like to make flower doodles in office meetings instead of taking notes
- i do not like seminars and conferences
- or self-help books
- unlike a lot of biracial people i don’t have biracial issues (thank you very much)
- i was once told i should broaden my horizon and “hang out with more white people”
- i thought that was funny considering i was living with my white pop at the time
- pudding is gross
- so is pie
- i like strawberry iced pop-tarts though. especially with burnt edges. (yummy!!)
- i got my belly button pierced years ago after breaking up with a boyfriend
- it was sign of moving on
- about seven years (and a couple of relationships) later we got married
- i love tulips
- and al pacino movies. carlito’s way, a definite fave.
- i used to write lots of poetry
- i once entered a neighborhood beauty contest
- i lost
- so did my friends so i didn’t feel bad
- i’ve interviewed lots of celebrities including beyonce and destiny’s child, jay-z, 50 cent, wyclef jean, dl hughley and queen latifah
- i met halle berry once, the legendary luther vandross, aaliyah and big pun.
- i’ve never owned a dog
- i loved loved loved my cat kizo
- i like spring best
- but fall’s pretty cool too
- i can’t swim
- i used to do a pretty good belly flop though
- i’ve got lots of artsy friends
- i’ve got lots of non-artsy friends
- i got fired from my first job at people’s drug store
- i quit my second job at all tune and lube
- i actually liked archery in gym class
- i have never been athletic but playing volleyball over my best friend’s fence was fun
- i bought a pair of roller blades on sale from target for 3 bucks about 3 years ago
- i’ve never roller bladed anywhere
- i like biggie more than tupac
- mary j. blige’s music is like a soundtrack to most of my life. my life, my life, my life!
- coffee makes me waaaaaaaaaaay too jittery. i drink it anyway.
- i sho miss getting free cd’s!!
- i am not a morning person
- i usually skip breakfast
- i love talking on the phone
- i want to take a photography class one day
- some days i wish my hair wasn’t so daggone curly
- some days i love that my hair is so daggone curly
- skeleton steps make me really, really nervous
- i think my husband is one of the funniest dudes around
- i love to read good books and magazines
- i walked down the aisle at my wedding to “who’s that lady” by the isley brothers
- i like to watch boxing
- but i don’t really follow football
- i’ve had the same two best friends for well over 25 years
- i think work is overrated
- i am the only child but i’m not spoiled
- i ate greek salads for months after watching my big fat greek wedding
- i think my kid is the coolest kid on the planet
- i think all zoo animals look pretty sad
- the serenity prayer is one of my favorites: God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change; courage to change the things i can; and wisdom to know the difference.
